Claudia Christine Kemp (known as Chris), 72, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024 at home with her family. Born on May 17, 1951, in Point Pleasant, she was raised in Manasquan. Later in life Claudia moved to Florida before returning to New Jersey in 2017 to live with her daughter and family.
Claudia's path was illuminated by the love of her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Kemp, in 2017. Claudia was also predeceased by her two brothers, Louis Franz and Robert Blaine as well as her parents Claudia Caragius and Jesse Blaine. Claudia's spirit is carried on by her daughter Stephanie (Ed) Applegate and their children Ryan and Alexis. Claudia was so proud of Ryan who is becoming a police officer and loved Alexis “to the moon and back”. Claudia’s spirit is also carried on by her son Robert (Nichol) Mihalenko and their beautiful daughter Mackenzie. Claudia also had a very special place in her heart for her grandson Tyler.
Professionally, Claudia worked at The Methodist Homes in Neptune, where she served as a bookkeeper before moving to Florida where she had a couple different bookkeeping jobs.
Claudia enjoyed cross-stitching and making latch hook rugs as well as cross word puzzles. She also enjoyed music, especially the “Oldies”. Claudia traveled on many cruises with her husband David. As the years went by, Claudia found solace and excitement in the stories unraveled in her favorite TV shows, with "General Hospital" holding a special place in her daily routine. She was also an avid reader, losing herself in the pages of books especially by author Danielle Steele.
Claudia Kemp's life was a life of struggles, love, passion, and strength till the very end. We honor her life by cherishing the moments we shared and by embracing the love she gave. Rest in peace, dear Claudia, knowing that your story is far from over; it lives on in the beautiful family you've left behind. May you forever rest in peace free of pain and struggles.
