Tradition of Compassion and Service
In 1947, John J. Ryan Sr. moved his family to the close-knit community of Keansburg, bringing with him a dedication to compassion and service that would shape the future of local funeral care. That year, he founded the John J. Ryan Home for Funerals, with a mission to provide respectful and personalized care for families during their times of loss.
John Sr.'s vision was rooted in genuine kindness and unwavering support for the Keansburg community. He believed that every family deserved to be treated with dignity and empathy, a belief that became the cornerstone of the business.
After John Sr.'s passing, his daughter, Jacqueline M. Ryan, took up the mantle, continuing her father's legacy with the same heartfelt dedication. Jacqueline's commitment to the community and her compassionate approach ensured that the John J. Ryan Home for Funerals, later renamed Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals INC., remained a pillar of support for Keansburg families.
Through the years, both John Sr. and Jacqueline were deeply involved in the community, always ready to lend a helping hand to families in need. Their legacy of compassion and service lives on with Catherine M. Ryan, Jacqueline’s daughter. Although Catherine is unlicensed and not qualified to make funeral arrangements, embalm, or conduct funerals, she continues to honor their commitment to providing exceptional care and support to those they serve.
Our story is one of family, three generations, community, and unwavering dedication to making a difference in people's lives during their most difficult times. We are proud to carry forward the values and traditions that John Sr. instilled in our business, ensuring that the Ryan funeral home remains a place of comfort, dignity, and respect.
