Obituary for Joan Wentway

Joan Wentway, 88, of Middletown, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at her niece’s home. She was born and raised in Jersey City, prior to moving to Middletown 62 years ago. Joan retired from Plygems, Jersey City, were she was the Vice President. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Church, Middletown, loved going to Atlantic City, playing Bingo and the lottery. Joan also helped run the Bingo games for St. Catherine’s Church for many years. Joan was predeceased by her husband; Richard in 2018. She is survived by her niece, Linda Bryer of Keansburg; two nephews Gene Gavin of Florida and Michael Gavin of California; a Goddaughter, Casey Ann Gavin and many other nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. On Monday a burial will take place at Bayview Cemetery, Leonardo. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.

As per the regulations imposed through the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 50 people allowed in the funeral home at one time. In order to accommodate all of Joan family and friends, we ask that you please be brief while visiting in order to make room for additional guest to pay their respects; we thank you for understanding.
