Obituary

Obituary for Ross E. Drake Sr.

Ross E. Drake Sr., 76, of Matawan, passed away on, Tuesday, May 7th, at Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center, Hazlet. He was born in Long Branch, and has been a life-long resident of the Bayshore area. Ross was a self-employed painter for many years. He enjoyed fishing and Nascar, he loved spending time with family, but his grandchildren were his life. Ross is pre- deceased by his grandchild; Elijah Smith in 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years; Theresa Drake of Matawan; three sons and daughter in-law, Ross Jr. and Annmarie Drake of Toms river, Robert Baxter Sr. of Union Beach and Joseph Baxter of Matawan; three daughters and son in-laws, Samantha and Theonardo Smith of Middletown, Robin and James Reeder of Oklahoma, and Mullica Pomsanam of West Milford; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and his dear friend Sawai Pomsanam of Matawan. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers family will be accepting donations.
