Obituary for William "Billy" T. Gilbert

William “Billy” T. Gilbert, 64, of Belford, passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd, at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born and raised in Manhattan, New York William proudly served in the US Air Force from 1982 to 1988. He and his family finally moved to Keansburg, prior to moving to Belford 30 years ago. Billy started at Union Carbide as a senior network analyst and then retired from Attachment in New York City. He enjoyed snow skiing, roller coasters and trips to Las Vegas. He loved the beach, being in the water and taking his kids to amusement parks. Billy was a loving father and was very close to his children. He loved providing for his family. Billy was predeceased by his parents, William P. "Chuck" and Helen “Lala” Gilbert; his brother, James “Jimmy” Gilbert; He is survived by, his loving wife of 37 years, Barbara Rongo-Gilbert; his 3 children Nicole and her husband Robert Cullen, James Gilbert and Kali Gilbert; his sister, Mary “Mickey” Pepchinski; two grandchildren, Ciara and Brynn Cullen, and he loved his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, February 6th, from 2-6pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave.Keansburg. Religious service will be held on Saturday at 5:30pm. Cremation will be private.
