Amadeu Antonio DaSilva Anjos Sr., 56, of Hazlet Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 29th, at JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was born and raised in Portugal, lived in Elizabeth, and moved to the Bayshore area in 1993, before settling in Hazlet in 1994.
Amadeu worked for BAC Mason Local 5 for 10 years, he left a legacy of craftsmanship on many buildings in the state. Amadeu started a masonry company which will be carried on by his two sons. He was an avid soccer fan of his team Benfica, he loved watching soccer with both of his sons. Amadeu loved cooking, sharing Portuguese food with his daughter, grilling, and spending time outside. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing video games; he also had a 30-year tradition of watching the Honeymooners Marathon on New Year’s Eve. Amadeu enjoyed working around the house, fixing everything even the cars. He also loved his parrot Jimmy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Amadeu Anjos and Alice Oliveira. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Diana Anjos of Hazlet Township; his two sons, Amadeu Anjos Jr. (Sabrina Sevigny) and Branden Anjos both of Hazlet; His daughter, Gabrielle Anjos (Christopher Fertitta) of Hazlet; his siblings, Oliveria Anjos, Paulo Anjos, Victor Oliveria Anjos, Rosa Anjos, granddaughter, Jacqueline and his mother-in-law, Dolores Ramirez.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, April 16th, from 1-3 pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. There will be a 2:30 pm service at the funeral home. Cremation was private.
