Obituary

Bruce Brewer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023 at the Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 31, 1933, in Akins, Oklahoma, he was raised in New York City, and lived Keansburg.  After retirement he moved to East Canton, Ohio, before returning to Keansburg in 2022.  He lived a life full of love, service, and dedication to his family and community.

Bruce proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. His commitment to service did not end with his military duty. After working as a butcher at the A&P grocery store and driver for Academy Bus Lines, Bruce continued to contribute to his community as an active member of the Middletown Elks Post 2179 and the VFW. His dedication to his community was only surpassed by his commitment to his family.

Bruce was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Mira, and his three sons, Bruce Brewer, Daniel Brewer, and Thomas Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia (O'Neill) Brewer, who stood by him as a pillar of strength and support throughout their years together. His devoted caretaker, Christine Brewer, also survives him. Bruce leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories with his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The arrangements were under the care of the Jacqueline M. Ryan home for Funerals 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg
