Carolyn S. Slover,59, of Keansburg, affectionately known as CaCa to her friends and family, was a vibrant soul whose laughter and love of life left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Born on May 3, 1965, in Newark, Carolyn developed a spirited personality that would shine throughout her years. She passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Neptune, leaving behind a legacy of joy and cherished memories.
Carolyn was predeceased by her loving parents, Roscoe and Marilyn Cochran. She was the heart of a large and devoted family, including her two brothers, Ronald and Thomas Cochran, and her sister, Denise Ziegenfuss, as well as her sister-in-law Kathleen Cochran. Her memory will be lovingly carried on by her son, Robert Slover of Keansburg, and her two daughters, Rebecca and Cathleen Deasey of Millville and Theresa Slover of Keansburg. Carolyn was also a beloved sibling to her four brothers, Raymond Cochran of Toms River, Roscoe and AnnaMarie Cochran of Ocean, James and Donna Cochran of North Carolina, and Dennis and Karen Cochran of North Carolina. Her sisters, Regina and Richard Kopec of Lakehurst and Robin and Bobby Kelly of Middletown, will miss her dearly. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Pam Cochran and brother-in-law Thomas Ziegenfuss and her life-long companion Vincent Gillick.
Carolyn's seven grandchildren, Marilyn, AnnaMae, Kai, Robert, Jackson, Jordan, and Isaac, were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and imparted her zest for life and fun-loving spirit. Carolyn's numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members will fondly remember her warmth, generosity, and the joy she brought to family gatherings.
Professionally, Carolyn dedicated many years of service as a waitress at The Terminal Lunch on Beachway in Keansburg, where she was known for her infectious smile and the personal touch she brought to her work.
Carolyn's interests and hobbies were a reflection of her outgoing and sociable nature. She was an avid Bingo player and avid Packers Fan. She enjoyed the thrills of Atlantic City. A fan of the culinary arts, she loved watching cooking shows and was an excellent cook herself, known especially for her delicious Empinadas. Carolyn relished the moments where she often used her favorite word to express her enthusiasm for life and her family.
A fan of the Lifetime channel and horror movies. Her greatest pleasure came from the time she spent with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren. The love and laughter they shared will forever be a testament to the wonderful grandmother, mother, sister, and friend she was.
Carolyn's presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She approached every day with a sense of adventure and a smile that could light up a room. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit was unbreakable, and her love for her family was boundless. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org .
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, January 27th, from 1PM-4PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. A religious service at 3:30 PM will conclude the services
