Catherine Currier Obituary

Catherine F. Currier, 80, passed away on February 8, 2024, in Keansburg. Born on June 25, 1943, in Newark, raised in Middletown, prior to moving to Keansburg 40 years ago.

She was predeceased by both her parents George and Catherine Rosko. Her journey led her to find love with Maston Dayton Currier, who passed away in 1970.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Currier of Keansburg; her daughter, Kim and son-in-law James Hurd of Keansburg; her brother, George Rosko of Lakewood; and her adored grandchildren, Shanna, William, and JD, as well as her great-granddaughter, Mikayla.

A fan of country western music, she held a special place in her heart for the melodies of Johnny Mathis. Mornings were a sacred time for Cathy, as she savored her tea.

Her love for the outdoors was evident in her hobbies. Cathy delighted in fishing and crabbing. Her long walks were not just exercise but an opportunity to connect with nature and find peace. Even her television preferences reflected her playful spirit and love for entertainment, with the Jerry Springer show being a favorite pastime.

Above all, Cathy cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Each moment was an opportunity to impart wisdom, share laughter, and create the memories that now comfort her family as they remember a life well lived. On Saturday, February 24th, there will be a Memorial Service from 2-4pm, at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation was private.
