David E. Scott, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023, in Hazlet Township. Born on October 27, 1939, in Jersey City, David was raised in Jersey City lived in Middletown and Keansburg, where he was known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Scott of Keansburg, his cherished daughter, Brenda Scott, and her husband, Leonard Bosques of Keansburg. He is also survived by his brother, Nelson Scott of South Carolina, his two sisters, Janet Parisi of North Carolina and Judy DePinto of South Carolina, and his adored grandchildren, Xavier, Aiden, Kayleigh, and Lennox of Keansburg. David's memory will live on through the many other family members and friends who had the privilege of knowing him.
A proud veteran, David served his country in the Air Force from 1964 to 1968. Following his service, David went on to have a successful career as a warehouse worker at UPS, where he dedicated 30 years of hard work before retiring. His strong work ethic and commitment to his job were evident throughout his long tenure at the company.
David's love for his community was apparent through his involvement with the American Legion Post 279, where he was a dedicated member. His passion for sports was also well-known, as he was an avid Giants fan and enjoyed spending time playing pool at Jackie Keelens, as well as bowling. David's love for sports extended to his family, as they often joined him in these activities, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Aside from his love of sports, David enjoyed going on vacation with his family, particularly to Myrtle Beach. These trips provided an opportunity for David to unwind and spend quality time with his loved ones, creating lasting memories that they will forever hold dear.
David was a man of great character, whose kindness and thoughtfulness were felt by all who knew him. He was the type of person who made an impact on everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression on their hearts. His loving nature was evident in the way he cared for his family, always putting their needs before his own. David's legacy of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness will continue to live on through the memories and stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
As we remember David E. Scott, let us celebrate his life and the positive impact he had on those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, David, knowing that your legacy of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on June 19th, from 4-6 pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. A religious service will take place at the funeral home at 5:30 pm, which will conclude the services. Cremation was private.
