Dennis McKenna, 57, of Freehold, formerly of Keansburg, passed away on Saturday, November 20th, at Millennium Memory Care, Freehold. He was born in Red Bank, lived most of his life in Keansburg and Brooklyn before moving to Freehold several months ago. Dennis worked for WPIX Television Station in New York as a set designer for many years. He was an Emmy Award winner, loved to go shopping, traveling, fashion and his “Label's”. He loved everything about the city, and will always be remembered for being an all-around fun-loving guy, who would give you the shirt off his back and his smile that would light up a room when he entered.
Dennis is predeceased by his mother, Carol McKenna in 2010 and his sister, Michelle McKenna in 1970. Surviving is his father, Vincent McKenna Sr. of Jackson; his brothers, Raymond and Christie McKenna of Jackson; Vince McKenna Jr. and his partner John Bianco of New York; three nephews, Raymond Jr., Patrick and Liam McKenna of Jackson; many aunts, uncles and cousins and extended family members. Family and friends are invited to pay their respect on Tuesday, November 23rd from 3-7 PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. A religious service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM, which will conclude the evening and a private cremation will follow. The family requests donations can be made in Dennis’s name to the Dementia Society of America at www.DementiaSociety.org. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Millennium Memory Care and to Rayna and her staff for the wonderful care they have given to Dennis.
