Donald E Knapp Sr.

Donald E. Knapp Sr., 79, of West Keansburg, passed away on Friday December 20th, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born in Union, lived in South Plainfield, prior to moving to West Keansburg 46 years ago. Donald was a custodian for the Hazlet Township Board of Ed for 15 years, worked as a supervisor of mail and delivery for the US Post Office for 33 years, also worked for Kentile in South Plainfield for 13 years. He was an avid bowler, was a Mets and Giants fan and enjoyed Atlantic City. Donald was pre-deceased by his parents William and Isabelle Knapp; his son Edward Knapp in 1988; 2 brothers William Knapp and Richard Knapp and 3 sisters Ruth Snyder, Mildred Evans and Bernice Campalonga. Surviving is Donald's loving wife Elizabeth Knapp. They were married 56 years ago in St. Ann's Church, Keansburg; his son Donald Knapp Jr. of West Keansburg; 2 daughters Donna Pellegrino of Whiting and Brenda Worth of Keansburg; 2 brothers Robert and Gary Knapp of Keansburg; his sister Beverly Wilson of Hazlet; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Family will be accepting friends on Sunday 2-6PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Monday there will be a 9:15AM Mass at St. Ann's Church, Keansburg.
