Edna J. Kuyl, 86, formally of Keansburg, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2023, at Bayshore Shore Hospital in Holmdel, New Jersey. Born on August 7, 1937, in Jersey City, where she lived until she moved to Keansburg in 1967, Edna lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
Edna was predeceased by her two brothers, Norman and Buddy Taggert, and her sister, Doris Colby. She is survived by her two devoted sons, Thomas Cooney, of Keansburg, and John Cooney, along with his companion, Janice Bell, of Keansburg. She was also a cherished sister to Joan Hand of Belvidere, NJ. Edna's legacy continues through her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will remember her fondly for her warmth, love, and enduring spirit.
Edna spent many years working in the warehouse at Revlon in Edison. Her dedication and work ethic were admired by her colleagues and superiors alike. Despite her commitments at work, Edna always prioritized her family and made sure she was present in their lives. She was a figure of strength and resilience for her loved ones, demonstrating the importance of hard work, perseverance, and the value of family.
Outside of work, Edna had a passion for crocheting, crafts, and going to Bingo. These hobbies brought her immense joy and were a source of relaxation and creativity. However, the joy she received from her hobbies paled in comparison to the happiness she found in spending time with her sons and grandchildren. Edna's love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. Her home was a haven of love and warmth, filled with the laughter and joy of her loved ones.
As we bid farewell to Edna, we celebrated her life and the lasting impact she made on her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through the memories she created with her loved ones.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg, Cremation will be private
