Florence Cobb Obituary

Florence J. Cobb, affectionately known as Bebe to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. She was a spirited soul who lived a full and vibrant life of 95 years, having been born on September 4, 1929, in the bustling neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Bebe's journey eventually led her to Keansburg, where she spent 65 cherished years of her life.

Bebe's early years in New York City were filled with the energy and resilience that would come to define her. Her transition to Keansburg marked the beginning of a new chapter where she would lay down roots and create a lifetime of memories. Bebe's passion for life was contagious, and she nurtured a warm and welcoming home for all who knew her.

In her professional life, Bebe was a talented seamstress, working with precision and care at Komar Sewing in Keansburg. Her skillful hands crafted beauty and function, a testament to her dedication and attention to detail. Later, she brought her nurturing spirit to Regency Park in Hazlet, where she served as a dietary aid, ensuring that those in her care were well-fed and comfortable.

Bebe was a woman of many interests, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a familiar face on trips to Atlantic City, where she reveled in the excitement and buzz of the casino floor. Her love for the lottery scratch-off tickets was known to all, as was her patience and focus while working on puzzle books. Shopping was more than a pastime for Bebe; it was an adventure, especially when browsing the aisles of local thrift stores, hunting for hidden treasures.

A former member of the Ladies Aux, New Point Comfort Fire Company, Bebe demonstrated her commitment to community and service. Her involvement was a reflection of her belief in giving back and supporting those around her.

Family was the cornerstone of Bebe's life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She was predeceased by her sister, Dolores "Sweetie Pie" Jackman, and her son-in-law, Joseph Oliva. Bebe's legacy lives on through her devoted daughter, Marie Oliva; her adoring grandchildren, Gina Oliva, Joseph (Rachel) Oliva, Christine Oliva, and her cherished great-granddaughter, Scarlet Oliva. She will also be fondly remembered by her niece, Diane Jackman; her nephews, Joseph and John Jackman; and her great-nephew Chase (Neety) Rivas, and their son Neeve.

Girls' night was a highlight for Bebe, an occasion filled with laughter and camaraderie. She loved the opportunity to unwind and share stories with the women who were not just friends but family in heart. These moments were a testament to her belief in the power of connection and the joy of shared experiences.

Bebe's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the occasional splash of Atlantic City glamour. She was a beacon of light to all who had the pleasure of crossing her path. Her spirit, a blend of New York tenacity and Keansburg warmth, will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her generous heart.

As we bid farewell to Florence "Bebe" Cobb, we celebrate a life lived with gusto and grace. Her stories and her smile will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Bebe's journey may have come to a close, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come. Arrangement's were entrusted to the Jacqueline M.
