Frances Stead Obituary

Frances P. Stead, beloved member of her family, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, at the age of 84 in Holmdel. Born on December 3, 1939, in Bayonne, she was raised in Cliffwood and moved to Keansburg in 1969. Frances's life was one of love, and joy, leaving warmth and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Frances's love story with her husband, John Stead, was cut short when he passed away in 1993, yet her love for him lived on. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Katherine "KC" Caputo, who passed away just days before her, and her brothers Richard DeGraff and Patrick Marinelli, as well as her sisters Camille Brogan and Elizabeth Copper.

Left to honor Frances's memory are her loving children, Sean Stead of Keansburg, Timothy Stead of Florida, and Vira Lynn Stead-Readmond of South Amboy. Her siblings, Joann Ceppaluni and Linda Katon, both residing in Florida. Her life was further enriched by her six grandchildren—Justin and Michael Caputo, Nicholas Stead, Mackenzie Stoll, Christopher and Samantha Albanese as well as her adored great-grandchild, Sloane Stoll. Each of them will carry a piece of her in their hearts.

Frances's commitment to her faith and community was evident through her active involvement in St. Ann's Church, where she was a dedicated parishioner and member of the St. Ann's Rosary Society. Her sense of service extended to her participation in the Bayshore Senior Center, where she found camaraderie and purpose. As a homemaker, Frances created a warm and welcoming home, ever open to family and friends.

Frances found joy in beading, creating intricate and beautiful pieces that reflected her attention to detail and artistry. Her love for flowers and gardening was more than a hobby; it was a testament to her ability to nurture and cultivate beauty in the world. Frances also found pleasure in the simple things, like playing games on the computer and the thrill of scratch-off tickets.

Above all, Frances cherished time with her family and friends. She was a beacon of light in their lives, always ready to listen, share a laugh, or offer wisdom.

Frances P. Stead will be remembered not just for the life she lived, but for the lives she touched. Her kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on the world.
