Gail M. Lowman, who had a spunky and sassy spirit, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, at the age of 80, in Linwood. Born on May 11, 1944, in Long Branch, she was raised in Port Monmouth, lived in Texas until moving back to New Jersey in 2023.
Gail's early years were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family. Though she was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Irene Young, her beloved husband, Emory Lowman, her brothers, Robert and Kevin Young; her brother in-law Joseph Steinbrick and her grandson Nicolas Vetrano.
Gail's legacy continues through her loving family. She is survived by her son, Ronald Hood of Texas; her daughter, Karen and her husband Don Vetrano of Middletown; her brother, James and his wife Gail Young of Middletown; two step sons, Gary Lowman of Canada and Chris Lowman of San Antonio; two step daughters and sons in-law, Kathy and Don Williams of San Antonio and Julia and Albert Campo of Republic of Georia; her sister, Karen Steinbrick of Port Monmouth and her sister in-laws Janice and Agnes Young of Middletown. Her role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, blessing her with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren that will carry her memory in their hearts.
Professionally, Gail dedicated 20 years of her life as a nurse's aide, beyond her professional life, an avid reader; she found solace and adventure within the pages of books.
Gail's zest for life was further evident in her love for shopping and a good meal, with seafood being her ultimate indulgence. Furthermore, Gail's love for the outdoors was unmistakable. She found peace and excitement in traveling to new destinations, casting a line while fishing, and the simple pleasure of crabbing along the shore.
Gail's life was a tapestry of love, service, and the simple joys that make life worth living. Her presence was a gift to all who were fortunate enough to cross her path, and her absence will be deeply felt by many.
Gail's spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she loved. Her story does not end here, for in the hearts of her family and friends, Gail M. Lowman's legacy will continue to thrive, just as her memory will forever be a beacon of warmth and light. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 4PM to 7PM for a celebration of life at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation was private.
