Hildur J. (Olsen) Mercure

Hildur J. Mercure, 76, of Middletown, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at home. Hildur was born on January 4, 1946 in Rahway, New Jersy, grew up in Carteret, NJ before moving to Middletown 56 years ago. She married the love of her life on March 26, 1966 at the Methodist Church, Woodbridge. Hildur was a homemaker, she enjoyed watching Classic Concentration, Wheel of Fortune, General Hospital and all the animal shows, along with being an avid pet lover. Her greatest loves were her family and her church family, she loved spending time both of them and attending church functions, in her younger years she enjoyed cooking and going camping. Hildur was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She also enjoyed collecting stuffed animals and teddy bears.    
She was predeceased by her loving parents, Haakon and Ingeborg Olsen and her beloved granddaughter, Trinity Mercure. Hildur is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ken Mercure of Middletown; two sons and daughter in-law, Roy and Jackie Mercure of Florida and Robert Mercure of Middletown; a daughter Sherry Riley of Nevada; two grandchildren, Sarah Davison and Daniel Riley; and many other extended family members and church family.   
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4-8 PM at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals Inc. 233 Carr Avenue Keansburg, NJ 07734. On Friday there will be a service at the funeral home at 10 AM and the burial will follow at Clover Leaf Cemetery, Woodbridge.  Donations can be made to the Monmouth County S.P.C.A.
