Janet O'Neill Obituary

Janet J. O’Neill, a cherished mother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, at the age of 78. Born on April 15, 1947, in the vibrant city of New York, New York, Janet spent her entire life in the warm community of Middletown, where she was known for her kind spirit and loving heart.

Janet was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Mary Andrews, who instilled in her the values of hard work and compassion that she carried throughout her life. She was a devoted mother to her son John Verbout, who, along with his fiancée Iris Verbout, will miss her more than words can express. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she was a guiding light for her niece Dorothy and husband William Bork, her nephew William Andrews, as well as her great-niece Crystalyn Bork, great-nephew Michael Bork, and great-great-nephew Fallon, all of whom reside in Middletown.

For many years, Janet dedicated her time and energy to the Arnold Walter Nursing Home, working diligently in the housekeeping department. Her colleagues knew her as a reliable and cheerful presence, always ready with a supportive word and a helping hand. Janet’s work ethic and commitment to the well-being of others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Janet’s passion for life was evident in her love for Bingo. The excitement and camaraderie of the game brought her immense joy, and she could often be found calling out numbers with a hopeful smile. Her adventurous spirit shone through her love for going on drives, exploring the countryside, and soaking in the beauty of nature. Janet’s heart held a special place for animals, and her kindness extended to all creatures great and small.

Janet’s warmth, generosity, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to others, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a family that adores her. As we say goodbye to Janet J. O’Neill, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us all. Her presence will forever be felt in the whisper of the trees, the laughter at the Bingo halls, and in the hearts of her loving family and friends. Rest in peace, Janet, and thank you for the joy you brought into our lives.
