Jean R. Senatore, 88 of Middletown, affectionately known as "Honey Girl" to those closest to her, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. Born on July 9, 1935, in Newark, NJ, Jean's life was marked by her vivacious spirit and generous heart. She brought joy and laughter to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love.
Jean's early years in Newark laid the foundation for a life filled with warmth and community. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Mary DeSantis, her devoted husband, John, her caring brother, Ronald DeSantis, and her dear sisters, Barbara DeSantis, Helen Fiore, and Phyllis Siciliano, as well as her cherished niece, Kim Siciliano, and nephew, Nicky Siciliano. Despite these profound losses, Jean's capacity for love never waned, and she continued to nurture her relationships with those she held dear.
Jean's career as a dedicated secretary at Valentines Electric in West Orange spanned many years, where her diligence and warm personality made her a cherished colleague.
Known for her love of animals, Jean could often be found caring for the neighborhood creatures, feeding anything that wandered into her path. Her kindness extended to all living beings, and her compassion was boundless. Jean's love for life was evident in her hobbies, which included spirited games of poker with friends, tuning in to her favorite episodes of Jeopardy, and spending precious moments with her loved ones. She will be fondly remembered as an all-around great person, whose loving and kind way touched the lives of many.
Jean's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving family members. Her sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Jim McMenemie of Middletown, and Mildred Hettinger of Old Bridge, continue to honor her spirit. Her nephews and nieces, Ron, Guidino, Donna, Cheryl, Crystal, Tammy, and Jackie, as well as her great-nephews and nieces, Ronald, Nicole, Denise, Michael, Nikko, and Paige, will forever hold in their hearts the lessons of love and kindness she imparted. Along with many cousins and extended family members, Jean's legacy of generosity and warmth will live on.
Jean's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one individual can have on the world around them. Her infectious laughter, her willingness to help others, and her boundless love for her family will be the hallmarks of her memory. In honoring Jean's life, we reflect on the words of love and kindness she shared with us, the memories of joy and laughter we created together, and the enduring legacy of compassion she leaves behind. Her life was a beautiful mosaic of the moments shared with those she loved, and her story will be recounted with fondness and admiration by all who were touched by her grace.
Jean R. Senatore's life will be celebrated in the hearts of her family and friends on Monday, June 17, 2024 at St Catherine’s Church, Middletown at 10:15 AM and the entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.
