Jeffery John Barr, 61, of Hazlet Township, passed away peacefully at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel, New Jersey, on July 10, 2023, following a brave battle with Pancreatic cancer. Born on March 12, 1962, in Staten Island, New York, Jeff spent most of his life in Staten Island and Brooklyn before moving to Hazlet 20 years ago. He was a beloved father, son, fiancé, and friend.
Jeffery is survived by his loving family including his daughter, Heather E. Barr of Hazlet; his mother, Jeanette Kowell of Staten Island, NY; his devoted fiancée, Alison De Fort of Hazlet; a stepdaughter, Desiree A Madden of Florida, and a step-granddaughter, Savannah Rose. His family will remember him as a compassionate and dedicated individual whose love and generosity knew no bounds.
Jeff served his country with honor and distinction in the US Army. Following his discharge, he continued to serve his community in his professional life. He was a respected IT Technician at All H-Vac in Brooklyn, NY. His dedication, hard work, and technical expertise were highly valued by his colleagues and friends, and he was known for his ability to fix anything and everything that came his way.
Jeff’s passion for life extended beyond his work. He was an avid fan of the Yankees and the Giants, with a particular fascination for the Jersey Central Line trains. His love for everything about trains was well-known among his friends and family, often leading to exciting and informative conversations. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast who loved the thrill of the open road.
In his leisure time, Jeff enjoyed going to metal concerts and playing video games. He was a regular viewer of Jeopardy, often impressing his family and friends with his vast knowledge and quick thinking. His love for cooking was evident in the delicious meals he prepared, often experimenting with new recipes and flavors.
Jeffery's life was characterized by a vibrant spirit and a zest for life. His enthusiasm for his interests was contagious, inspiring those around him. He will be remembered for his unwavering strength, his passionate interests, and his loving and generous heart.
As we mourn the loss of Jeffery, we also celebrate the life of a man who made the world a brighter place with his presence. He was a beacon of strength and resilience, a source of joy and laughter, and a testament to the power of love and family. His life was a testament to the power of passion, the importance of family, and the joy of living life to the fullest. We will forever cherish the memories we shared with him.
The cremation was private. Family and friends are invited to share memories of Jeffery on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Blue Rock Cafe 522 Amboy Rd Keyport, NJ 07735 from 1 pm to 4 pm
