Jermaine L. Hatcher, 47, passed away peacefully at his home in Matawan, NJ, on May 23, 2025. Born on October 2, 1977, in Buffalo, NY, Jermaine's vibrant spirit and warm smile brought light into the lives of all who knew him.
Jermaine's early years in Tinton Falls laid the foundation for a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. Later on he lived in Keansburg and Keyport before settling in Matawan in 2022 He carried the legacy of his Oma und Opa, Josephine and Orthello Hatcher, who preceded him in death, with grace and honor. Jermaine shared 21 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved husband, Dan Hunter. Together in Matawan, they created a life filled with joy and companionship.
Jermaine was the son of Gaye Williams of Florida, he was a supportive and loving brother to Gwendalyn Rogers and Steven Hatcher, both of Tinton Falls. His role as an uncle to his nephews was one he took great pride in, and his guidance and humor will be missed profoundly. Jermaine's extended family, friends, and his adored cat, Miss Ella, will forever remember his gentle nature and caring heart.
Professionally, Jermaine dedicated himself to ensuring the comfort and safety of others as a facilities manager for EPS in Tinton Falls. His colleagues respected him for his work ethic and his ability to lead with empathy. His involvement in associations related to his field showed his commitment to professional growth and community service.
Beyond his work, Jermaine was an individual of eclectic interests and passions. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, his enthusiasm for the game and his team was infectious. Concerts were a favorite pastime; Jermaine's love for music spanned various genres, and he relished the experience of live performances. Additionally, Jermaine's creativity shone brightly when he was engrossed in building intricate Lego sets, a hobby that provided him with hours of joy and satisfaction.
Perhaps one of the most distinctive aspects of Jermaine's life was his love for the Jamaican culture. To Jermaine, it was more than just a pastime; it was a way to relax, to reflect, and to engage with friends in deep and meaningful conversations. His open-mindedness and his desire to enjoy life's simple pleasures were traits that endeared him to many.
Jermaine's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of human connection. His presence was a gift, and though his physical absence is deeply felt, the impact of his love and friendship remains.

Jermaine's life will be honored on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals Inc. 233 Carr Ave, Keansburg NJ. A 4:30 PM service will be held at the funeral home, where his family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and to remember a life lived to the fullest. A private cremation will follow.
