Joseph McGann, 78, of Hazlet Township, passed away on Friday, May 19th, at home. He was born in Amarillo, Texas, raised in New Jersey, moved back to Texas prior to moving to Hazlet, Township in 2016.
Joe served in the US Army from 1968-1972, he was a supervisor for NTTA North Texas Toll Authority. He was a member of AA for 47 years and was a member of the NRA. He was alumni of Rutgers University and a brother of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. Joe was very active in the Catholic Church; he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones.
Joe was pre deceased by his parents, Vincent and Dorothy McGann; his1st wife, JoAnn McGann in 1989 and his 2nd wife, Jean McGann in 2013 and his brother, Vincent McGann in 1998
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Walker of 8 years; two daughters and son in-law, Tara and Mark Ritchie of Yonkers and Dawn McGann of Union; his brother and sister in-law, William and Jane McGann of Delaware; his 6 step children and step grandchildren. .
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, May 24th, from 4-7pm, at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. On Thursday there will be a 10:00am Mass at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Keansburg, burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
