Joseph J. Marchetti, 55, of Port Monmouth, known affectionately to his friends as "The Beast", unexpectedly left this world and his dear friends on February 7, 2023. Joseph was predeceased by his father, Joseph A. Marchetti Jr., and his mother, Marie Marchetti. Although Joe had no children of his own, he was known as "Uncle Beast" to a number of his friend’s children. Joe was an only child but he was blessed and leaves this world with a tribe of dear friends too many and too important to him to list.
Joe was raised in Atlantic Highlands. He attended Christian Brothers Academy, graduating in 1985. Joe had such an endearing personality and because of that, he had a variety of friends from all different walks of life. In his early years, he developed his love of horses, giving him the nickname of "T Bred Joe” by which many knew him. During this time he also developed his love of bowling which he did competitively in high school and as an adult.
Joe also loved softball, golf, darts, poker tournaments, and sports in general. Nothing in sports was closer to his heart than the love for his silver and black Raiders. Even though he was a fan of the New York Mets and New York Islanders neither came close to that Silver and Black.
Joe loved his cruise vacations on "Blue Water" with his friends, his boombox, CD #1 and his 80s hair band CDs. Joe also loved his karaoke top 3 1) Something to Believe In 2) Country Roads and 3) Kentucky Rain. He was a big animal lover, and he heavily supported the SPCA and sometimes to his neighbor’s dismay, the local cat population. Joe was also a dog lover. After Sandy and any time Joe would stay with friends, Joe would opt to share the couch with his four-legged buddy Aidan instead of staying in the guest room.
Friends are invited to celebrate Joe’s life on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 4 to 8 pm at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Ave Keansburg, NJ.
