Loraine R. Williams, 97, affectionately known by many as "Goosey," passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, at the age of 97 in Holmdel, New Jersey. Born on February 26, 1926, in the Bronx,was raised in New York, prior to her moving to the Bayshore area in 1951. She was a beacon of joy and resilience throughout her remarkable life.
Loraine was predeceased by her loving parents, Patrick and Margaret Carroll; her spouses, James F. Rapelye and Thomas R. Williams; her cherished daughter Darlene Leeser, and her beloved grand children Jessica Hulej and Bill Leeser Jr. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive by her extensive and adoring family. She is survived by her sons, Roland Thomas Williams of Keansburg and William Joseph Williams (Gail) of Leonardo; her daughters, Patricia L. Agar (Bill Daly) of Florida, Margaret Robbins (Jeff) of Keansburg, Alice Stone (Hal) of Florida, Donna Browning of Kansas, Kimberly Hulej (Jim) of Keansburg, and Terry Jean Williams (Billy) of Keansburg. Goosey was also the proud grandmother to 29 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor her legacy through the lessons of love and family she instilled in them.
Loraine's professional life was marked by her role as a bus aide for Shamrock Bus Company, where she was known for her kindness and dedication and past member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Port Monmouth 2179.
Family was the cornerstone of Loraine's life. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her warmth, laughter, and love were the glue that held her family together, and her presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed.
Loraine, or Goosey as she was lovingly called, will be remembered as a woman of strength, compassion, and boundless love. Her impact on the lives of those she touched cannot be overstated, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends
As we say goodbye to Loraine R. Williams, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman dearly loved. She was the matriarch of a large and loving family, a loyal friend, and a kind-hearted individual who made the world a better place.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, January 15th, from 2-6pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
