Louise M. Gearity, 80, a longtime resident of Keansburg, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023. Born in Hoboken, lived in Jersey City, prior to moving to Keansburg in 1985.
Louise was predeceased by her loving parents, Andrew and Georgett Tanskey; her stepfather, Edmund Van De Velde, her devoted husband, Steven T. Gearity, who passed away in 2017, and her two sisters, Francis Cameron and Cookie Campo. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive by her two adoring sons, Steven and Robert Gearity of Keansburg, and her brothers, Robert and Richard Tanskey, who will miss her deeply.
Before her retirement, Louise was a familiar and friendly face to many as a cashier at Pathmark in Middletown.
Louise's interests were a reflection of her love for life and the joy she found in the company of others. She was an avid Bingo player, finding both excitement in the game and a sense of community among fellow enthusiasts. Her travels to Hawaii were among the highlights of her life, where she embraced the beauty of the islands.
An insatiable reader at one time, Louise found great pleasure in the pages of some good books.
Louise's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and service to her family. Her presence was a comforting and uplifting force, and her absence will be felt profoundly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, December 10th, from 2-5pm, at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
