Lynnell "Nella" Fay Obituary

Lynnell Marie Fay, affectionately known as Nella to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2024, after a short- lived battle with cancer. Born on June 15, 1968, at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank, she was a beacon of light and joy throughout her 56 years of life.

Nella was predeceased by her loving parents, Edward Frances Fay Jr. and Susan Margaret McGhie-Feuker; her brother, Edward Frances Fay III; her lifelong partner of 26 years, Jimmy Sutton; her brother-in-law, Raymond Taylor; and her cherished dog, JJ, also known as Bird. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her three children, Lauren K. Siegert (37), Jon Joseph "Dobbie" Siegert (36), and James Michael Sutton Jr. (20); her granddaughter, Liliana Sabella; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and John Correia, Kathleen and Chris VanDermark, Sue Taylor, Sunny Reid, and Lynn and Ed Galante; her stepfather, Michael J. Feuker; and her stepmother, Arlene Fay. Nella's spirit will also live on through her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and great cousins.

Nella's life was one of vibrant engagement and passion. She left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her, radiating compassion, kindness, and generosity. Her presence was a source of countless smiles and laughter, and she was never afraid to be herself and speak her mind. A true movie buff, Nella cherished the moments she spent engrossed in film, and she found solace in the melodies and stories of her favorite music and the Mr. Ballen True Crime Podcast.

An avid gardener, Nella found peace and contentment in the tranquility of her garden. Early morning bird watching became a cherished ritual, especially when accompanied by her morning coffee. Her playful spirit shone brightly when she played with her dog, LuLu Belle, or when she challenged herself with a game of Tetris or explored word games. Nella's love for her family was profound, and she spent countless hours talking to her sisters on the phone, sharing stories, laughter, and support.

Above all, Nella's greatest joy and pride were her children, who were not only her best friends but also her world. She was a pillar of strength and support, always there to listen, encourage, and guide. Her laughter, smile, and unwavering support have left an everlasting imprint on those she loved.

Nella's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the preciousness of family. Her life was a testament to the power of living authentically and loving deeply. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and comfort those she has left behind.

As we bid farewell to Nella, we take solace in knowing that her life was well-lived and that her memory will continue to be a source of joy and inspiration. Her light will forever shine in the hearts of her loved and cherished family and friends.
