Maria Olivares Obituary

Maria M. Olivares, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024, at Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. Born on October 25, 1934, in the Dominican Republic, Maria's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and heartfelt moments, woven with the love of her family and friends.

Maria, affectionately known to all as Maria, was a vibrant soul who carried the warmth of her native Dominican Republic in her heart throughout her life. Her journey brought her to Manhattan, where she lived before finding her final home in Keansburg in 2017. Maria's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds.

She is survived by her loving husband of forever and a day, Benigno Olivares Sr., who was her rock and her partner in every sense. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with laughter, dance, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Maria was also the proud matriarch of a large and loving family, including her two sons, Ralph Olivares of North Carolina and Benigno Olivares II of Georgia, and her daughter, Mercedes Olivares of Keansburg. She was one of 22 siblings, a testament to the bustling and lively household that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.

Maria's legacy also lives on through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren will forever hold onto the memories of their grandmother's infectious laughter, her joyous spirit, and the gentle kindness she extended to all.

Professionally, Maria once worked as a seamstress, a trade that showcased her meticulous attention to detail and her creative flair. However, her true passion lay in the home, where she dedicated herself to being a homemaker.

Maria's interests were as colorful as her personality. She had a talent for making jewelry and clothes, often gifting her creations to those she loved. An avid dancer, Maria could often be found swaying to the rhythms of her homeland at family gatherings, her laughter ringing through the air. Her sense of humor was unmatched, and she had a knack for bringing joy to any room she entered.

Above all, Maria will be remembered as a kind, loving, and caring person. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of many with her compassionate spirit. Her family will always remember the comfort and happiness she brought into their lives, and her memory will continue to inspire them every day.

Maria's life was a beautiful journey that left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Her presence was a gift, and although she has departed from this world, the love she shared with so many will continue to resonate. Maria M. Olivares will be deeply missed, but the legacy of her spirit will live on forever in the stories, the laughter, and the love she left behind.
