Maria Rozzo

Maria Rozzo, 68, of Keansburg, passed away on Friday, July 26 at Bayshore Community Hospital. Surrounded by her family, Maria passed peacefully into the arms of angels. Born in Newark, NJ, she moved to Keansburg at 16. Shortly after moving to Keansburg, she earned and held the title of Miss Keansburg two years running. She was a woman who would give the shirt off of her back to a stranger in need. Her friends would describe her as "full of life" with a smile "that would light up the room". In her free time, Maria enjoyed cooking her famous Sunday gravy dinners, singing along even when she didn't know the words, and dancing her heart out. Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren. Maria was predeceased by her parents, James and Antoinette Rozzo. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Rozzo-Pigott of Keansburg and her son James Rozzo of Arizona; her three sisters, Lucille Ruggiero of Union, Louise Neville of Arizona and Lisa Rozzo of Delaware; her two grandchildren, Megan Pigott of Keansburg and Nina Rozzo of Arizona; her two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Teagan Laguna of Keansburg, many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and her cousin Nicholas Sicliano of Keansburg. Marie leaves behind many broken hearts but a lifetime of wonderful memories. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.
