Mary Frances Murphy, a cherished soul and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at home in Middletown on September 8, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on July 16, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York, Mary was a beacon of joy and kinship to all who knew her. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends.
Mary spent her early years in Brooklyn before her family moved to the Monmouth County area, where she later settled in Matawan. It was there that she cultivated a life rich with love, laughter, and lasting memories. Six years prior to her passing, Mary made the final move to Middletown, where she continued to spread her joy and love to those around her.
Surviving Mary are her loving sons and their spouses, Donald and Robyn Daily of Old Bridge, Justin and Samantha Daily of Keyport, and Cody Daily and his fiancée, Julie Mossey, of Totowa. Her life was further enriched by her cherished brothers, Francis Murphy of Freehold and Mark Murphy of Florida; her sisters, Marianne and Paul Candiloro of Freehold, and Madelaine and John Murphy-Beyer of Howell. Mary's legacy continues through her adored four grandchildren, Jlynn, Jenna, Jordan, and Donald, and her stepdaughter, Amy Brogus of Middletown. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family also mourn the loss of Mary, each carrying with them the light of her love and the joy of her spirit.
Mary's life was marked by her devotion to her family and her role as a homemaker. She created a home filled with warmth and kindness, where friends and family were always welcomed with open arms and a hot cup of tea. Mary's interests reflected her vibrant personality; she was a social butterfly known for her love of flea markets and antique collecting. Her passion for conversation, whether in person or over the phone, was legendary, and her giving nature made her a cherished friend and confidante to many.
Those who knew Mary will remember her seated comfortably with a cup of tea in hand, engrossed in her favorite crime shows—a simple pleasure that brought her great joy. But above all, Mary's heart belonged to her family. The time she spent with her grandchildren was precious and filled with laughter and learning. Each moment was a treasure, a testament to her unwavering love and the deep bonds she nurtured throughout her life.
Mary's passing is a solemn occasion, yet it is also a time to celebrate a life lived with boundless love and selfless giving. Her memory will be eternally cherished and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Mary Frances Murphy's departure from this world is not an end, but a beautiful legacy that will continue to flourish in the lives of those she touched. She will be dearly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, she will be privately cremated and the family will have a Celebration of Life on October 4th from 1-5PM at the Society Hill Clubhouse in Old Bridge, NJ.
