Michael Hughes, 65, of Hazlet, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 30th, at home. He was born in Red Bank, raised and lived in the Bayshore area, prior to moving to Hazlet in 2004. Michael was a Grocery Manager for Stop & Shop. He was an avid Yankee, Giants and Ranger fan. Michael was past president and vice president for Keansburg Pop Warner, coached for KYA, was an Umpire and loved coaching the kids. Michael was pre-deceased by his parents, William and Marion Hughes; his brother, Robert Hughes; his sister, Maureen Keelen; and his son, Paul Hughes. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Melanie Hughes of Hazlet; his son and daughter in-law, Michael and Bryanne Hughes of Middletown; his daughter, Allison Hughes and her boyfriend Patrick Kiley both of Hazlet; his brother and sister in-law, William and Rae Hughes of Florida; his sister in-law and brother in-law, Barbara and Richard Agar of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Cameron, Mackenzie and Ava; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, July 6th, from 3-7pm, with a service at 6:30pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
