Norberto Avila, 81, of Hazlet, passed away on Monday, November 1st, at Laurel Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Keansburg. He was born and raised in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, prior to moving to Perth Amboy where he worked for Celwave in Marlboro as a Laborer. After he retired he moved back to Puerto Rico, in 2016 he then moved to Hazlet to be closer to family. Norberto enjoyed playing Dominoes and working on cars. He was an avid White Sox fan. Norberto adored his parents and spending lots of time with them before their passing, he also loved spending time with his family. He is survived by two sons; Norberto Avila Jr. of Clifton and Edwin and his wife Wendy Avila of Hacketstown, three daughters; Lydia and her husband Heriberto Rivera of Chicago, Wanda and her husband Adolfo Mendez of Matawan and Nancy Vazquez of Hazlet, his brother; Isaac Avila of Chicago, three sisters; Magdalena Avila of Chicago, Ines and her husband Manuel Gomez of Chicago, Isabel Avila of Florida, fifteen grandchildren; Evan, Kristina, Adam, Brandon, Isabella, Alina, Nikko, Daisy, Marisol, Gladys, Diana, Jeremy, Nelcy, Janie, William and nineteen great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday from 7-9pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private.
