Patricia Brewer, a cherished matriarch and a beacon of love and warmth, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, in Hazlet, at the age of 86. Born and raised in New York City, prior to moving to Keansburg in 1972. After retirement Patricia and her late husband Bruce Brewer moved to Canton Ohio to be with their sons and family.
Patricia was the loving daughter of the late John and Agnes O'Neill, and she carried the spirit of their nurturing love throughout her life. Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Brewer, with whom she shared an unwavering bond of love and companionship for 65 years. She was the devoted mother to Paula Mira, Bruce Brewer, Daniel Brewer, and Thomas Brewer; who have also predeceased her. She was the proud grandmother to Joseph Mira, Jessica Brewer, Christine Brewer, Danielle Mira, Bryan Brewer, Eric Brewer, and Bobby Mira. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of her seven great-grandchildren, who filled her later years with renewed energy and delight.
Her family tree branched out with the love and support of her siblings. While she was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers Jimmy and Terry O'Neill, and her sister Maureen Hartnett, Patricia's memory will be cherished by her surviving brother Gerry O'Neill, and her sisters Nancy Bright and Kathleen Rywak. Each family gathering was a mosaic of stories, shared memories, and the warmth that only a close-knit family can provide.
Patricia's professional life was marked by her tenure as a bank secretary for JP Morgan Bank in New York City.
Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia's true passion lay in the happiness of her family, especially her grandchildren. Patricia's devoted caregiver and granddaughter Christine Brewer, whose dedication and kindness provided comfort and companionship for Patricia.
She found great pleasure in crocheting, bowling, bingo, and Bob Evans. Patricia also had a soft spot for dogs, and her affection for her furry companions was a source of constant joy.
Patricia's legacy is not only in the lives she touched but also in the simple traditions she upheld. Her love for her family was the thread that wove together the tapestry of her life. It was in the meals shared, the stories told, and the quiet moments of togetherness that her spirit truly shone.
We celebrate a life lived with purpose, love, and a gracious heart. She has left behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and guide her family for generations to come. Patricia's memory will be a guiding star for all who knew her, a reminder of the beauty of a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever treasured in the hearts of her loved ones.
There will be a graveside service for both Patricia & Bruce Brewer on Wednesday, October 30th at 11:00am, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Rd. Middletown, NJ 07748.
