Roland T. Williams, 67, a lifelong resident of Keansburg, was known to friends and family as Tommy, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. Born on July 29, 1957, in South Amboy, Tommy was a man who embraced life with a spirit of adventure and a heart full of warmth. He departed this world surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, craftsmanship, and cherished memories.
Tommy's life was marked by the loving bonds he formed and the close-knit family he was a part of. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Loraine Williams, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life. He also joins in rest his sister, Darlene Leeser, a nephew, William Leeser, a niece, Jessica Hulej, and his brother-in-law, William Daly, all of whom he loved deeply.
His memory will be treasured and kept alive by his adoring family, including his two daughters and son-in-law, Bobbie-Jo Williams and Jennifer and Rusty Conrad; his son, Sean Baum; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Gail Williams; and his five sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia Agar, Margaret and Jeff Robbins, Alice and Harold Stone, Donna Browning, Kimberly Hulej, and Terry Jean and William Williams. Tommy was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins will fondly remember his playful spirit and kind heart.
Throughout his life, Tommy was a hardworking and dedicated individual. In his younger years, he was employed by Collins Brothers in Keansburg, where he honed his skills and work ethic. Alongside this, he pursued construction work, showcasing his talent for building and creating with his hands. His work was not just a means to an end but a reflection of his passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Tommy's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. He found solace in fishing, where the patience and quiet of the sport contrasted with the bustle of daily life. Working with wood was not just a job but a pastime, as he brought pieces of nature into the homes and lives of those around him. The beach was a place of relaxation for Tommy, where the sun and surf provided a backdrop for family outings and solitary reflection alike. An excellent cook, he delighted in the joy of preparing meals for his loved ones, always eager to share his latest culinary creation.
However, it was the great outdoors that truly captured Tommy's spirit. He was happiest in the woods, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, and the company of woodland critters. These moments of tranquility and connection to the earth were the times when Tommy felt most at peace.
