Theresa A. Marks, 70, of Keansburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet on Thursday, February 3,2022. Theresa was born on September 5, 1951, in Manhattan, New York and lived most of her life in Keansburg. In her younger years, Theresa worked at the Palace Lounge, Keansburg, as a bartender. After that she was a stay-at-home mom, getting involved with the PTA at St. Ann’s School and becoming the Titian’s Biggest fan. She also worked for the Keansburg School District, as a lunch aide. Theresa was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in the Keansburg community. She was known for her outgoing personality, she loved spending time with her family, but most of all her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. Theresa enjoyed playing the lottery, listening and dancing to the oldies and was always the life of the party. She will be remembered as a fun, loving and caring person. She was an avid pet lover and adored her dogs, Jingles, Lucy and Benji, who predeceased her. Above all, Theresa was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and a friend who will be missed immensely.
She was predeceased by her father, John Bolger, her mother, Catherine (Ryan) Bolger, her beloved husband, Michael W, Marks Sr., two brothers, Edward Bolger and James Bolger, two sisters, Maureen Flanagan and Catherine Kane and loving granddaughter, Charlotte Marks. Theresa is survived by her loving sons and daughter in-laws, Michael W. Marks Jr. and his wife, Ashley, of Keansburg, Joseph Marks and his wife, Rebecca, of Middletown, and Ryan Marks and his fiancé, Jacqueline White and her son Alexavier Brito, of Keyport, her loving siblings, Dennis Bolger of New York, John Bolger of North Carolina, and Ellen and George Truchon of Hazlet, and her cherished grandchildren, Adrian Sabatino, Kirsten, Addison, Alahna, Maverick Marks and Jacob Mayer. Theresa will also be missed by many special nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A religious service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg. In keeping with Theresa’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. On Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 10:00 AM a Mass will be held in honor of Theresa at St. Ann’s Church in Keansburg, immediately after her remains will be laid to rest with her husband, Michael at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
