Theresa (Flaherty) Menture

Theresa Menture, 76, of Whiting, formerly of Keansburg, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born on July 7, 1947, in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn, NY. Theresa was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humor.

Theresa was predeceased by her devoted mother, Sophie Geoghan, her caring brothers, William (Bill) Flaherty and James (Jimmy) Flaherty, and her loving sister, Janet Collins. She is survived by Dennis Menture Sr. of Whiting, her three sons, William (Tricia) Menture of Hazlet, Dennis (Jenna) Menture of Middletown, and Timothy (Anita) Menture of Keansburg. She also leaves behind her brother Jack (Lucinda) Flaherty of Florida, two sisters, Dolores (Jimmy) Cartwright of Florida and Eleanor McGivney of Las Vegas, six cherished grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Theresa dedicated 34 years of her life to Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel, as a dietary aide. She was a hard worker who cared deeply for the residents, always going the extra mile to ensure their comfort and happiness. Her work ethic, compassion, and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Theresa loved spending time with her family, where she was often found in the kitchen cooking up something delicious. Her culinary skills were second to none, and she enjoyed seeing everyone enjoy the meals she prepared.

In her leisure time, Theresa enjoyed the simple pleasure of daily scratch-offs, a pastime that brought her much joy and excitement.

In her 76 years, Theresa lived a full and rich life. She was a woman of great strength and resilience, always putting others before herself. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Jacqueline M Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Ann’s Church, Keansburg, with the burial immediately following at Bayview Cemetery, Leonardo, NJ
