William J. Walters, known affectionately to family and friends as Bill, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023, in Keansburg, NJ. Born on October 24, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY, Bill was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Jane Walters. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Rhonda Walters of Keansburg; a sister, Laura Walters of Keansburg; and four nieces and nephews, Casey Walters, Stephen and his wife Kristen Walters, Evan Walters, and Lexi Walters. His family was a source of great pride and joy for Bill, and he cherished the times they shared together.
Throughout his professional life, Bill was a dedicated employee of the Hazlet Township School District, where he worked for many years as a maintenance man.
In his younger years, Bill was an enthusiastic baseball player. His love for the game never waned, and he remained an avid Mets fan throughout his life. Beyond the baseball diamond, Bill had a knack for tinkering with electronics.
Bill will be remembered for his generous spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering integrity. He was a man of few words. His family will remember him as a loving brother and uncle, a steadfast friend, and a man who lived his life with quiet dignity and grace.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals Inc. 233 Carr Ave Keansburg, NJ from 1 pm to 3 pm. At 2:30 pm a religious service will be held to conclude the services.
