William “Billy” F. Knabe Jr., 70, of Keansburg, passed away on Saturday, December 17th, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Jersey City, and has been a life-long resident of Keansburg.
Billy was a truck driver for over 30 years. His last recent job was with All Chemical Transportation as a hazmat driver. Billy loved boating, fishing and walking on the beach. He loved being in Keansburg. Billy was a Mr. fix-it and a master mechanic. He also enjoyed driving his work truck around.
Billy was pre-deceased by his parents, William and Violet Knabe Sr. and his sister Patricia Hyland. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joy A. Knabe; his two sons, Jesse Knabe and William E. Knabe Sr.; his two daughters, Kim and (Lance) Cygan and Kelly Ryan; his brother, Paul Hyland; his sister, Lynn and (Charles) Orchard; five grandchildren, William E. Knabe Jr., Ben Cygan, Danny Cygan, Brandon Knabe and Christopher Ryan; his beloved dog, Vicky and his life-long friend, George Hynes.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, December 21st, from 5-8pm at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Visiting Nurses Association at www.vnahg.org
